OBUV’ MIR KOZHI: THE RUSSIAN MARKET’S FAVOURITE FOOTWEAR IS ITALIAN

The spring edition of OBUV’ MIR KOZHI has concluded in Moscow with great satisfaction expressed by the Italian footwear producers involved. Around 4,500 professional operators attended the event over the four days of the exhibition that involved 110 exhibitors, of whom 50 were representing ‘Made in Italy’ footwear. 

The second edition of OBUV’ MIR KOXHI, was organized in an innovative format that enabled the fair event to take place in person: it is the only foreign event to be held in recent months due to the impossibility for operators to travel. This initiative, which took the samples from national footwear producers to showcase in Russia, provided qualified Russian personnel for the stands and enabled manufacturers to participate online in the commercial negotiations taking place and to interact with the buyers in Moscow, more than confirmed its value. 

With the organization of OBUV’ MIR KOXHI, BolognaFiere and Assocalzaturifici have made an important contribution to the recovery of exports of Italian footwear to Russia, a fact that was confirmed by the large number of Italian businesses that showed their faith in the event, in spite of the extremely delicate current situation characterized by the extension of the pandemic emergency that has persisted on an international scale for more than a year. 

“The hope for the autumn edition of OBUV’ MIR KOZHI,” declared Antonio Bruzzone, General Manager of BolognaFiere, “is to see now a further increase in the presence of Italian companies at the event, which we will support with a massive commitment to ensuring the best conditions for meeting with buyers. Naturally, at the same time, we hope that the progression of the vaccination campaign will make it will be possible to hold an in-person event in Moscow and resume trade fair activities. This last year, in which exhibition activities were suspended in Italy and abroad, has highlighted the strategic importance of fairs for exports and we have tried to support our industrial chains with new digital formats.”

The next appointment in Moscow for OBUV’ MIR KOZHI is scheduled for 19 – 21 October 2021.
