General Assembly of EMECA in Bologna 12-13 October

On the 12th and 13th October Bologna hosted the General Assembly of EMECA, the association that includes 22 of Europe’s major exhibition centres and that this year celebrates the 25th anniversary of its foundation.

The keynote speaker for the event was Professor Romano Prodi. It is a tradition, in fact, that during the Assembly an external speaker attends in order to provide his or her point of view about economic questions in general and a particular focus on the economic picture of the host country.

The General Assembly takes place every six months, hosted at the headquarters of one of the members and work is spread over two days. The Assembly offers an important opportunity for discussions between members to examine the main economic data, the most critical aspects and the main strengths and challenges. Italy was represented by the Bologna, Milan, Rimini and Verona exhibition centres.
