BOLOGNA FIERE AND AUTOPROMOTEC IN COLLABORATION WITH ACI SPORT AND THE ITALIAN AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR A NEW MOTORSHOW IN 2016

06/11/2015

BOLOGNA FIERE has acquired the Motorshow, previously organised by third parties, in May of 2015, now taking on a commitment to the 'capital’ of the Motorvalley region to once again organise an event in Italy that will be useful to the world of automobiles and the automotive sector. This opportunity will be even more useful when demand for the renewal of automobile fleets emerges and consumers will be expecting new models and new technological solutions for intelligent mobility.

For BOLOGNA FIERE this amounts to an obligation to a public that has followed the Motorshow for 40 years, updating it and relaunching it as an event that promotes the entire automotive industry and Motorsport in Italy.

The work over the past 5 months, since May 2015, has enabled BOLOGNA FIERE to put together a new Motorshow with a long-term project. The company has embarked on a partnership agreement with Autopromotec – organiser of the leading automotive fair platform - and with ACI Sport. Moreover BOLOGNA FIERE can count on the support of automotive manufacturers and trade associations. They have met with all the protagonists, Associations, and Automobile manufacturers.

FCA Italy has decided to support the project with its participation and there has been positive feedback from automobile manufacturers, component manufacturers and Associations.

With a view to optimising the organisation of the event, BOLOGNA FIERE and their partners have decided to relaunch it beginning in 2016, the year of recognition of the event in the international OICA calendar, thereby investing it with an official character and importance for the business community.

The Motorshow 2016 will maintain the same calendar, from 3 to 11 December.

It will be a manifestation that targets the public in order to promote sales and generate lead: for motor enthusiasts, this will be an all-encompassing experience in the world of automobiles and Motorsports, in a digital and interactive dimension, to create a Motorshow community that will be active year-round.

Motorshow 2.0 will promote knowledge of vehicles, new technologies, and will present all the latest solutions in components and accessories as well, especially for autos featuring smart and sustainable systems. There will be exchanges of information among institutions and consumers will be able to voice their needs, offering the opportunity to verify brand, model, and pilot potential through test drives and racing.

The Motorshow 2016 will also be rife with a passion for sports and will especially target young people to entice them into the world of automobiles. Through the participation of universities and start-ups there will be the opportunity to meet talents that the sector wants to attract and promote.

The Motorshow 2016 will make its debut to the media, operators, manufacturers and the Italian automotive district with an important preview on next 4th December. On this occasion the controversial issues of the economy, technological innovation, and connectivity will be discussed with expert sector exponents as represented by manufacturers, component manufacturers, associations, and institutions.

DECLARATIONS

Duccio Campagnoli, President of Bologna Fiere

We have made the decision, with our partners and after having discussed the possibility with automotive companies, to hold the Motor Show in 2016 and we are working to build, once again, an Italian event for automobile builders, the automotive sector, and motor sport.

A new Motor Show that will be much more than a show. It will be an event aimed at a large public to accompany and promote the profound technological change that is taking place. We are certain to have created a new team with Italian sector leaders - Autopromotec, Aci Sport, and manufacturing associations - to create a new and original format that will look toward the presentation of new autos and eco-sustainable technologies, comfort, and safety for innovative methods of transportation. At a time like this, confirming and renewing an investment in a national event that brings the public closer to the world of automobiles is not only an opportunity, but an obligation. Bologna, Emilia Romagna, and Motor Valley have motors in their DNA and innovation is their mission: the automotive sector is the key to Italian industry.”

Renzo Servadei, Executive Director Promotec Srl

“Experts are predicting that as soon as 2017 the automotive market will once again exceed 2,000,000 pieces sold in Italy. In order to reach this objective, one important role will be played by the Motorshow, an event that is specifically redesigned to put supply and demand into contact with each other so as to promote sales. The new format will reap benefits not only within the automotive sector, but also for the consumer. The technological evolution is advancing quickly, and Bologna will be the showcase of this evolution, where people can see it, touch it, try it."

Marco Rogano, Executive Director ACI Sport Spa

“ACI Sport confirms that we will support Bologna Fiere in 2016 for the Motorshow, an international stage of Motorsport. The Teams involved have expressed their interest to take the stage again in the famous Arena 48 with all the sports innovations in the sector.”
